There are various hazards associated with the use of machine shop equipment and tools. To prevent accidents and injuries, it is important to follow shop safety guidelines. Employees, students and visitors at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ may be exposed to hazardous machinery, physical hazards, hazardous materials or procedures that could result in injury.<\/p>\n

Shops and maker spaces on campus are used for a range of activities, including teaching, research and facility maintenance and repair. The potential hazards in these areas depend on the equipment and activities that take place.<\/p>\n

Departments at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ are required to create a health and safety plan to prevent injury and exposure to hazardous materials in their specific shops and maker spaces. It is the responsibility of departments and users to ensure these areas and equipment are used and maintained safely.
