Through the American Rescue Plan Act, a third round of financial assistance is available for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and Northwest Technical College students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

In May 2021, the U.S. Department of Education announced that ARP funding is available for institutions of higher education to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ARP appropriated $164,042,000 to the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities, with $4,585,381 allocated to Bemidji State and $692,257 to Northwest Tech. <\/span><\/p>\n

Award distribution will begin on Aug. 9 to students enrolled in summer courses and will extend throughout the fall semester which starts Aug. 23. <\/span><\/p>\n

To be eligible for summer ARP funding, students cannot have dropped, withdrawn or had a last day of attendance before July 29. <\/span>Aid packages range from $300-$500 and are distributed on a rolling basis to eligible students. Students eligible for Federal Pell Grants<\/span> will receive $300 and individual awards can be for up to $500. <\/span>Additional awards may be requested through the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and NTC’s special circumstances grant application. Emergency grants are now available to eligible DACA and international students. <\/span><\/p>\n

This round of funding was preceded by the April 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and December 2020 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, both of which offered relief awards to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and NTC students. <\/span><\/p>\n
