BEMIDJI, Minn. (Feb. 1, 2010) <\/strong>— Faculty and staff at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ have contributed to a Mid-Winter Interlude exhibition now showing in the University’s Touché Gallerie.<\/p>\n

The show, “A Celebration of the Talents of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Staff and Faculty,” opened Monday, Jan. 25 and runs through Friday, Feb. 5. It features the work of several members of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ faculty in the field of visual art. The pieces range from practical to aesthetic in an eclectic mix of photography, painting, sculpture and domestic craft.<\/p>\n

Perhaps unintentionally, the theme of the exhibit was warmth. The combination of summer and spring themes, the use of cloth and wood and the prevalence of warm colors created a hiatus from the recent dip of the mercury, a theme to be expected from northern Minnesota artists in the dead of winter.<\/p>\n

Located in the upper Hobson Memorial Union on the Bemidji State campus, the Touché Gallerie is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The gallery is open at no charge to the public.<\/p>\n
