Drs. Stephen Carlson<\/strong>, professor of music and chair of the Department of Music, and Cory Renbarger<\/strong>, associate professor of music, will travel to Arizona for a March 24 performance of Schubert’s “Winterreise”<\/i><\/a> at the Dove of Peace Lutheran Church<\/i><\/a> in Tucson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Winterreise,” based on 24 poems by German poet Wilhelm Müller, explores death and love through the metaphor of winter. Schubert was a big fan of Müller; he used his poetry as the basis for his other famous song cycle “Die schöne Müllerin.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n Proceeds from the performance will benefit the Tucson Interfaith AIDS\/HIV Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
