  {"id":14573,"date":"2007-12-03T15:36:59","date_gmt":"2007-12-03T21:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/uncategorized\/2007\/12\/03\/cri-hosts-dec-17-talk-on-wolves-and-mountain-lions\/"},"modified":"2021-11-01T16:01:17","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T21:01:17","slug":"cri-hosts-dec-17-talk-on-wolves-and-mountain-lions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2007\/12\/03\/cri-hosts-dec-17-talk-on-wolves-and-mountain-lions\/","title":{"rendered":"CRI hosts Dec. 17 talk on wolves and mountain lions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> &mdash; A natural resources presentation entitled &ldquo;Wolves and Mountain Lions in Minnesota &ndash; Facts, Uncertainty and Fiction&rdquo; is scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17 at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Center for Research and Innovation, an off-campus facility located at 3801 Bemidji Avenue North.<\/p>\n<p>This Bemidji Area Natural Resources Continuing Education Consortium presentation is open to the public and free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting will be <strong>John Erb,<\/strong> a wolf \/ furbearer biologist with the Department of Natural Resources Forest Wildlife Research Group, Grand Rapids.<\/p>\n<p>Erb will present current information about the status, distribution and management of wolves in Minnesota, followed by a review of what natural resource professionals know about mountain lions in Minnesota and surrounding states.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation is designed to be of interest to the general public, landowners, and hunters as well as natural resource professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Erb has been employed with the DNR for 10 years, having spent seven of those years in his current position. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming.<\/p>\n<p>The talk is part of an on-going series of Bemidji Area Natural Resources Continuing Education Consortium presentations, usually offered on the third Monday of each month.
