The School of Graduate Studies would like to remind all Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty and staff that, at the fall semester 2011 Human Subjects Committee meeting, the following motion was presented and approved by the committee:<\/p>\n
All Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty and staff who act as a sponsor or advisor for any Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student’s human subjects proposal will need to complete and submit a certificate of completion of the National Institutes of Health Office of Extramural Research Web-based training course, “Protecting Human Research Participants,” to the Human Subjects Committee. Faculty and staff need to re-take the training every five years to remain current.<\/p>\n
This motion was presented to Faculty Senate on December 5, 2011 and was unanimously approved.<\/p>\n
Training is available free online through the School of Graduate Studies website:<\/p>\n
