
On Aug. 23, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s American Indian Resource Center held its traditional Day of Welcome to open the fall semester.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ President Faith Hensrud and AIRC Executive Director Bill Blackwell, Jr., offered welcomes, followed by an honor song and a celebration song by The Kingbird Singers. Kevin Locke, a storyteller, native flautist and hoop dancer, shared a legend and song. Dr. Anton Treuer, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ professor of Ojibwe, gave the invocation.
Following the program, attendees sampled a variety of wild rice dishes and participated in a Student Services Information Fair in the AIRC Gathering Room
