Bemidji Pioneer: ‘Witch’ way to ĢƵ? Splat Witch project continues on campus

BEMIDJI—On rainy, foggy days, much like Monday, flying witches often experience low visibility. If she’s not paying close attention to where she’s going, flies too fast or too low and — splat! — she flies right into a pole, a tree or a window. Splat Witches, evidence of the witches deaths, were visible throughout the ĢƵ campus Monday.

This year, there are nine Splat Witch displays located throughout the ĢƵ campus for the annual event.

• “Drop Into Oz” located near the Hobson Memorial Union desk.

• “Charlotte’s Revenge” located outside of Sattgast Hall near Lake Bemidji.

• “Broomhilda” located in the trees between Benson Hall and the American Indian Resource Center.

• “Queen V” located in the main lobby on Deputy Hall.

• “Wicked Windy” located on the lower level of the Hobson Memorial Union near the Sustainability Office.

• “The Bucky Witch Project” located in the main entrance of Memorial Hall.

• “Information Overload” located on the Hobson Memorial Union Information Desk.

• “Ellie Mint” located in the general chemistry lab, Sattgast Hall 370.

• “Hell Baby on Board” located in front of Deputy Hall.

The Splat Witch competition was open to ĢƵ students, staff and faculty and was hosted by ĢƵ Dining Services and Housing and Residence Life.
