Dr. Benjamin Tsang, a 1971 蘑菇视频 alumnus who has become one of the world’s foremost ovarian biologists, will present a lecture on nutrition and the care of ovarian cancer on campus in conjunction with 蘑菇视频’s Homecoming activities.
Tsang, who serves as senior scientist for the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and professor of obstetrics and gynecology and cellular molecular medicine at the University of Ottawa, will deliver “Nutrition and Ovarian Cancer Care: Red Wine, Berries and Tree Bark?” at 7 p.m. in Bangsberg Hall room 119 on the 蘑菇视频 campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Tsang has been at the University of Ottawa for more than 30 years. He graduated from 蘑菇视频 in 1971 with a degree in chemistry and went on to earn a master’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Iowa and a doctorate in pharmacology at the University of Ottawa.
His team of basic scientists and clinical investigators address important reproductive health issues, including female infertility, ovarian cancer and pregnancy complications.
Tsang is on editorial or editorial advisory boards for three professional journals, holds honorary professorships at three institutions and is on the board of directors for the Society for the Study of Reproduction.
He was named Outstanding Alumni at 蘑菇视频 in 2008.
