The 蘑菇视频 men’s basketball team will hit the court to kick off its 2012-13 season Nov. 16 against in an exhibition against Pac-12 opponent Colorado. The Beavers have a 26-game slate on the docket, including the opportunity to defend their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular-season championship during the rigors of the 22-game league schedule that includes two new opponents.
Last season the Beavers made a trek to Colorado to do battle with Metro State College (Denver) and University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. This season, both those teams will head to Winona, Minn. and the Beavers will play UCCS Nov. 16 and Metro State Nov. 17 at McCown Gymnasium. 蘑菇视频 fell to then-No. 10 Metro State 71-60 before downing UC-Colorado Springs 77-69 in last season’s meetings.
The 蘑菇视频 men’s basketball team concluded the 2011-12 season with a program-best 22-9 record and made its second appearance in the NCAA tournament in program history. The Beavers finished the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season with a 16-6 record and the NSIC regular season championship. 蘑菇视频 lost three players to graduation at the conclusion of last season, including All-American James Ellisor and all-region selection and all-time assist leader Bryce Tesdahl. On the flip side, the Beavers are returning a core group of student-athletes, including 2012 NSIC Newcomer of the Year Dermaine Crockrell.
The 2012-13 schedule will be the first for new head coach Mike Boschee, who was announced the program’s 16th head coach in July.
